Stephanie S. Tolan is the author of 27 books of fiction for children and young adults, one of which (Surviving the Applewhites) won a Newbery Honor and another (Listen!) the Christopher Award-given for literature that "affirms the highest values of the human spirit." She has also written and co-written plays and musicals, nonfiction articles about thee social, emotional and spiritual needs of unusually bright children and adults, and co-authored Guiding the Gifted Child. She is a nationally and internationally known speaker and a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Educational Advancement.
