Tim Rowland is an award-winning columnist at The Herald-Mail in Hagerstown, Maryland. His articles have also appeared in America’s Civil War, the Cato Institute's Regulation Magazine, Adirondack Life, Elegant Living and a host of other newspapers around the country. He is the author of several books, including All Pet’s are Off, Strange and Obscure Stories of the Civil War, Maryland’s Appalachian Highlands: Massacres, Moonshine & Mountaineering Petrified Fact: Stories of Bizarre Behavior that Really Happened, Mostly, and Earth to Hagerstown (all published by High Peaks Publishing) and the forthcoming A History of Hiking in the Adirondacks (The History Press). Tim is also keeper and lackey for a wide assortment of mostly non-useful, freeloading critters, aided as always by his trusty (well, mostly trusty) companion Opie.
