老手船員和他的太太在平靜的海上拯救了一位在半毀的帆船上，半精神錯亂的唯一生還者。心存懷疑的先生划往半毀的船上看到可怕的景象。在返回自己船上的途中，他看到船正急速駛走，而他的太太也在船上。一場海面上貓捉老鼠的遊戲就此展開。本片根據查爾斯威廉斯的小說《Dead Calm》改編。

Edge of your seat suspense with 3 characters , and all 3 do exactly what smart people should do (unlike most suspense movies where you want to yell at the screen)
