Denzel Washington i en Oscar-vinnande prestation mittemot Ethan Hawke i detta drama som utspelar sig i den moraliska tvetydiga världen av hemligt polisarbete. Varje dag rasar ett krig mellan narkotikahandlare och poliser på gatorna i Amerikas innerstäder. Med varje krig kommer olyckor, ingen större än Los Angeles veteran och narkotikapolis Alonzo Harris (Washington), vars tvivelaktiga metoder balanserar på linjen mellan lagligt och korrupt. Idag får Alonzo en ny partner, idealistiska nybörjaren Jake Hoyt (Hawke), och Jake har en dag - och bara en dag - att bevisa vad han går för inför sin starkt karismatiska överman. Under loppet av 24 timmar kommer Jake att dras in i den etiska dyn i Alonzos logik, när dessa båda män riskerar sina karriärer och liv för att tjäna motstridiga begrepp om rättvisa.

Betyg och recensioner

Just another movie making all cops look bad like the crew of the vice squad Denzel seems to be in charge of. He did a good job showing the first day of the new guy but once he uses his peer pressure to get his trainee (Ethan Hawke) to smoke crack you could almost count on the ending the way it did. Denzel did not give the quality performance of his previous movies nor did he give it the depth that he has done in the past! Sorry Denzel not your best work.

Denzel is dynamite and Ethan is the fall guy. Tons of action, both actors were superb. Even a little Scott Glenn... You can watch this one over and over again. I had three Monte Carlos, but never as cool as the one in the movie- awesome!

This movie had every angle that you want action pack, suspenseful, plot twist, and of course the bad guy gets it in the end. The only thing I didn't like is out of all the great movies Denzel has played in he never got an Oscar until this movie. All the actors were excellent as well.
