About this movie

After more than thirty years of service as a top naval aviator, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot. Yet, Maverick must confront the ghosts of his past when he returns to TOPGUN to train a group of elite graduates and comes face to face with Lt. Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the son of his former wingman "Goose". Bitter rivalries ignite as the pilots prepare for a specialized mission which will require the ultimate sacrifice from those chosen to fly it.

Honestly one of the worst movies I've ever watched. The one star is for the aerial action sequences which are, in all honesty, really well done. Everything else is extremely cheesy, cliched, recycled fluff that is disappointing on so many levels it's unreal. My wife is huge fan of the original and even she said it was wince-inducing on several occasions. The side-characters are so badly written and acted, it's almost unwatchable in parts. Excruciating stuff. Avoid.

Not rating the film itself but rating the shoddy downhill service Google play provides, only available on HD to pre order and if did come as an upgrade to 4k guarantee it won't have HDR oh and plus no upgrade allowed if already bought in HD, nearly every 4k release doesn't have HDR anymore, Google have taken away Google movies from smart tvs so why should pcs and smart phones still have it and now have to use YouTube instead on my tv, hate YouTube, even amazon prime offer 4k and HDR

Great film, but don't pre-order on google play. Yet again, google only offer the HD version for pre-order - not 4k. When its released, mark my words, the 4k version will be the same price as the HD pre order and you won't necessarilly get a free upgrade. Happened to me with spiderman - no way home. Could only preorder hd, on release 4k was the same price and didn't get upgrade.
