Filmen, som bygger på en roman av Margaret Mitchell, skildrar livet i den amerikanska södern och berättar historien om en bortskämd flicka som överlever det amerikanska inbördeskriget, men samtidigt förlorar den man hon älskar. Clarke Gable spelar den oförglömlige Rhett Butler och Vivien Leigh spelar Scarlett O'Hara. Duon har fängslat flera generationer biobesökare. I andra roller ser vi bl a. Olivia De Havilland och Leslie Howard. Borta med vinden är filmhistoriens absolut största publiksuccé och dessutom vinnare av 10 Oscar®*bl a för Bästa Film och Bästa Regi.

Despite being a a classic Hollywood film with the infamous quote: "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn," from Rhett Butler, it has aged poorly in recent years. I loathe the character Prissy who is a horrible portrayal of African-Americans during the Reconstruction Era. Scarlett O'Hara is a selfish, vapid spoiled woman who really needs an attitude adjustment and reality check. The KKK Clan references are unsettling to say the least. It's overrated, but the costumes are nice.

This movie was made in 1939 that over 80 yr go. There was no CG or cut re do big scenes roll and hope for the best and this movie is one of the greatest every made. If u have people still talking about it now. Nothing made like this anymore. ❣❣❣❣

I love the movie Gone With the Wind. It is one of the best movie ever made. The characters that played their parts were the greatest actors. Especially Clark Gable Ms Prissy. Just love this movie. Scarlett outstanding characters. This movie is History of the Civil War and couldn't describe it any better. Excellent classic movie.
