Le combattant de MMA Cole Young, habitué à se battre pour l'argent, ne connaît ni son héritage, ni pourquoi l'empereur de l'Outre-monde Shang Tsung a envoyé son meilleur guerrier, le mystérieux cryomancien Sub-Zero, à ses trousses. Craignant pour sa famille, Cole part à la recherche de Sonya Blade sur les conseils de Jax, un commandant des Forces Spéciales marqué du même symbole de dragon que Cole possède depuis sa naissance. Il se rend au temple de Lord Raiden, un dieu ancien et protecteur de la Terre proposant sanctuaire aux porteurs de la marque. Cole s'y entraîne aux côtés des vétérans Liu Kang, Kung Lao et du mercenaire Kano afin d'être prêt à affronter ses ennemis de l'Outre-monde aux côtés des plus grands champions de la Terre dans une bataille décidant du sort de l'univers. Mais Cole parviendra-t-il à libérer l'arcane, cet immense pouvoir qui réside en lui, afin de sauver sa famille et arrêter l'Outre-monde pour de bon ?

Positives - Great action and fight scenes - Brutal and gory like a Mortal Kombat movie should be Negatives - Having been a fan of Mortal Kombat since I was a kid, I felt like the writers did not know which direction to go - They kept bring up the tournament, but there was no tournament. - Goro looked great, but had no real part except to die. - Like every other movie that has a "Chosen One" they use a birth mark The original movie from the 90s was far better. Merge the two would be 5 🌟!!!

I despise when studios make a franchise movie to milk the built-in fan base, but they're ashamed of the characters, so they make their own characters, usually for "representation" reasons. Since this franchise had tons of Asians already, I'm not sure why WB hated them. But clearly, they did. So you get Joe Asian-American. With a dumbass super power. I watched this on HBO Max and still wanted my money back.

Being a fan of the 95' original I had high expectations. The movie starts with the origin of my two favorite characters from the franchise only to barely see them throughout the movie. If they focus the story entirely on Scorpion and Sub-Zero instead of this new character, the movie would have been amazing. This movie was entertaining to watch once but to purchase for $25 it's a no for me. Hopefully if they make a sequel they will fix the problems.
