Based on real events, Battle of the Pacific tells the story of the dramatic fall of Captain Sakae Oba during the end of World War II. Masterfully balancing the guerilla campaign of Oba's loyalist soldiers with the U.S. mission to drive him out, Hideyuki Hirayama manages to perfectly capture the mind-set of the Japanese people as they come to terms with their unthinkable defeat.
