新時代に向けて飛躍的に発展を遂げていく中国。北京オリンピック開催などで目まぐるしく経済成長するなか、多くの市井の人びとが、町を出て漂泊の道をたどり始める。時代に翻弄され、故郷を離れて暮らす息子・ダオラー。母・タオは、故郷にとどまることを選択し、ひとりダオラーを想いつづけていた。やがて時代はめぐり、2025年。ダオラーは故郷から遠く離れた異国の地で、かすかに記憶するタオの面影を探し始めていた―(C) 2015 BANDAI VISUAL, BITTERS END, OFFICE KITANO

A very well structured and well-developed film. The main story is about a Chinese mother and her child, who was born in China but went abroad as a child, and is divided into three different eras, beautifully depicting the conflicts in their lives. The mother goes through a love triangle in her youth, the death of her father, her divorce from her husband, and the fact that she never saw her children again, all difficulties that could happen to anyone in her position. A son experiences the divorce of his parents, not having seen his mother for a long time and not being able to communicate with his father due to the fact that his first language is different from his father's. Although there are many aspects that are not expressed clearly in the film, each experience itself is something that we all experience at some point in our lives, and it was a good film that made me think about it. 非常に構成が良く練られた映画。メインは中国人の母親と生まれは中国だが幼少期に海外へ渡った子供の話で、3つの時代に分け、それぞれの人生の葛藤を美しく描いている。母親の方は若い頃の恋愛における三角関係、自身の父親の死去、旦那との離婚、その後子供には会えていない事等、同じ立場なら誰にでも起こりうる困難を経験する。息子は親の離婚、母親とは長く会っておらず、父親とは第一言語が違うことでコミュニケーションが取れない事等を経験する。作中にはハッキリと表現されない部分が多いが、それぞれの経験自体は人が皆人生のどこかで経験する事象で、とても考えさせられる良い作品だった。
