“Crazy Rich Asians” följer New Yorkern Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) när hon följer med sin pojkvän Nick Young (Henry Golding) till hans bästa väns bröllop i Singapore. Exalterad över att besöka Asien för första gången men nervös över att träffa Nicks familj, är Rachel oförberedd när hon inser att Nick missat att nämna några viktiga detaljer om sitt liv. Det visar sig att han inte bara tillhör en av landets rikaste familjer men också en av dess mest eftertraktade ungkarlar. Att vara Nicks sällskap gör Rachel till en måltavla, som svartsjuka societetslejon och, värre, Nicks egen ogillande mamma (Michelle Yeoh) tar sikte på. Och det blir snart tydligt att även om pengar inte kan köpa kärlek, kan det definitivt komplicera saker.

Betyg och recensioner

I notice tons of 5 star and 1 star reviews so I'm going to be different and say 2 and a half stars. The script was for the most part what I'd call "trite", plus overall it wasn't that funny. However there was good acting by Michelle Yeoh, Constance and Awkwafina. Too much overacting by the girl who played Araminta. The only time I laughed out loud was when Awkwafina told Rachel that Eleanor would probably offer $omething in exchange for willfully disappearing.

I was excited...until 3/4 of the movie ended up being in FRENCH. I understand they're suppose to be 'french-asian' but putting 3/4 of the movie in french doesnt capture my attention because my eyes (as an English speaker) are on the subtitles. NOT the movie.

Was a rly good movie. Honestly the books were better and it wasn't very original or a masterpiece (unlike the books) but it is worth watching. Ppl say it speaks out against racism but it rly doesn't except for the first scene which actually sent the wrong message about racism. While I love the intent the only reason the mean hotel manager started respecting them was because they were rich. That's not the message ppl should be sending out. Ppl should respect others because they r PEOPLE!
