El joven peleador de MMA, Cole Young, acostumbrado a los golpes, no conoce su legado ni por qué el emperador del Outworld, Shang Tsung, envió a su mejor guerrero, Sub-Zero, un criomante de otro mundo, a cazarlo. Al temer por la seguridad de su familia, Cole busca a Sonya Blade por instrucciones de Jax, comandante de las fuerzas especiales que tiene la misma extraña marca del dragón con la que nació Cole. Pronto se encuentra en el templo de Raiden, un dios antiguo y guardián del Earthrealm, quien ofrece refugio a aquellos con la marca. Ahí, Cole entrena con guerreros como Liu Kang, Kung Lao y el mercenario Kano, mientras se prepara para pelear por el universo junto a los grandes campeones de la Tierra contra los enemigos de Outworld. Pero, ¿tendrá Cole el espíritu necesario para desbloquear su arcana, el inmenso poder dentro de su alma, a tiempo para salvar a su familia y detener el Outworld de una vez por todas?

Positives - Great action and fight scenes - Brutal and gory like a Mortal Kombat movie should be Negatives - Having been a fan of Mortal Kombat since I was a kid, I felt like the writers did not know which direction to go - They kept bring up the tournament, but there was no tournament. - Goro looked great, but had no real part except to die. - Like every other movie that has a "Chosen One" they use a birth mark The original movie from the 90s was far better. Merge the two would be 5 🌟!!!

I despise when studios make a franchise movie to milk the built-in fan base, but they're ashamed of the characters, so they make their own characters, usually for "representation" reasons. Since this franchise had tons of Asians already, I'm not sure why WB hated them. But clearly, they did. So you get Joe Asian-American. With a dumbass super power. I watched this on HBO Max and still wanted my money back.

Being a fan of the 95' original I had high expectations. The movie starts with the origin of my two favorite characters from the franchise only to barely see them throughout the movie. If they focus the story entirely on Scorpion and Sub-Zero instead of this new character, the movie would have been amazing. This movie was entertaining to watch once but to purchase for $25 it's a no for me. Hopefully if they make a sequel they will fix the problems.
