I had read a lot of bad reviews about Real. Complaints about it being too hard to understand, sex scenes, overdone fight scenes... After seeing it for myself, I really have to wonder if we were watching the same movie. Sure it's not a straightforward story but I'd like to think the average person would at least be able to follow the plotline. You've got two characters played by Kim but hey, they're like night and day. Mannerisms, voice, posture, even a simple gaze is impossible to mistake them for one another. Each support character holds him or her own. The use of superhuman abilities and dance to portray non-reality scenes is beautifully done. I'd recommend it to friends just for them to see how ambitious Real is.

Not an ordinary movie for sure. Like movie "Inception", it takes brain power to figure out who is who, who is real, and who is fake... Kim Soo Hyun's acting is mind blowing! It is a movie with seasoned casts, full of twists, strong colors and background music, and beautiful set ups. Definitely worth watching a couple of times and you will discover some more hints every time you watch it. People criticize the sex scene but I do not understand why... The scenes serve clear purpose as part of the story line and they are filmed beautifully. Definitely a unique movie and one of its kind. It stands out from the traditional "Korean Production". Highly recommended!

It was quite an unexpected experience. The story isn't linear. With the use of flashbacks mixed with hallucinations, you really have to pay attention and follow closely. The editing is rough in areas and can be frustrating (or fun) to piece together. Kim Soo Hyun's portrayal of the two main characters was especially a treat. Real isn't for the average moviegoer but it you want to engage the mind - give Real a go! You won't regret it!
