”Crazy Rich Asians” kertoo paljasjalkaisesta newyorkilaisesta Rachel Chusta (Constance Wu), kun tämä matkaa pitkäaikaisen poikaystävänsä Nick Youngin (Henry Golding) kanssa tämän parhaan ystävän häihin Singaporeen. Rachel on innoissaan ensimmäisestä Aasian-vierailustaan, mutta hermostunut Nickin perheen tapaamisesta ja yllättyy kuullessaan, että Nick ei ole kertonut muutamasta tärkeästä elämäänsä liittyvästä asiasta. Hän on sekä yhden maan varakkaimman perheen jälkeläinen että yksi maan halutuimmista poikamiehistä. Nickin käsipuolessa kulkeminen asettaa Rachelin kateellisten seurapiirien, ja mikä vielä pahempaa, Nickin oman paheksuvan äidin (Michelle Yeoh) maalitauluksi. Ja pian tulee selväksi, että vaikka rahalla ei voi ostaa rakkautta, se voi taatusti mutkistaa asioita.

I notice tons of 5 star and 1 star reviews so I'm going to be different and say 2 and a half stars. The script was for the most part what I'd call "trite", plus overall it wasn't that funny. However there was good acting by Michelle Yeoh, Constance and Awkwafina. Too much overacting by the girl who played Araminta. The only time I laughed out loud was when Awkwafina told Rachel that Eleanor would probably offer $omething in exchange for willfully disappearing.

I was excited...until 3/4 of the movie ended up being in FRENCH. I understand they're suppose to be 'french-asian' but putting 3/4 of the movie in french doesnt capture my attention because my eyes (as an English speaker) are on the subtitles. NOT the movie.

Was a rly good movie. Honestly the books were better and it wasn't very original or a masterpiece (unlike the books) but it is worth watching. Ppl say it speaks out against racism but it rly doesn't except for the first scene which actually sent the wrong message about racism. While I love the intent the only reason the mean hotel manager started respecting them was because they were rich. That's not the message ppl should be sending out. Ppl should respect others because they r PEOPLE!
