As a movie, it is ok. As a "based on historical events" it is down right awful. No one at this time thought the world was flat, something that the Greeks had already figured out a thousand years before these events. Columbus was a terrible human being. If he were alive today, he would be tried as a war criminal and hung until dead. Portraying him as some great man does a complete disservice to the 2+ million people he murdered, raped and enslaved. Don't believe me? Look it up

I've been looking for a film about this topic since I've read so much on Columbus and his first voyages, so I was very pleased to finally see it come to life. I love the sets, costumes, and locations, it all felt very authentic. The cinematography is also great, though it could have been a bit more creative. The music was generic, but I'm glad they incorporated the different Spanish and Native styles into it. Columbus is a good character but not particularly interesting, however this is a solid interpretation of him. Also I think the story could have had a bit more tension and the ending was very anti climactic. Overall this is a decent film, I would recommend it to those who are fans of Ridley Scott and history buffs.

Good movie but I was hoping to see the true story of Christopher and his men and the sad story of the Taino natives. He was very brutal and just as bad as Hitler but the movie didn't show anything still had moments but was expecting more
