यस चलचित्रका बारेमा

Sam Mendes, the Oscar®-winning director of Skyfall, Spectre and American Beauty, brings his singular vision to this World War I epic. At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield (Captain Fantastic's George MacKay) and Blake (Game of Thrones' Dean-Charles Chapman), are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers—Blake's own brother among them.

A tedious, anticlimactic and stupid movie, 1917 is the worst move I have ever seen. Were it not for the characters in uniform, you would not know this was a war genre movie. It is a movie about two men travelling across the countryside. Imagine the Wizard of Oz in a worn torn country and you can practically illustrate this movie. The cinematography was good though.

It's not really a traditional war movie. It's a bit like Lord of the Ring type of personal journey through War Torn France and there is a lot of suspense, thrilling chase sequences, death and destruction along the war. Its still quite thrilling and have you gripping your couch armrest. Worth the rental. My critique would be not enough backstory of characters and ending was a bit of a flop when they find the brother.
