'1' is an action documentary that brings the glamour, speed, danger and excitement of Formula One Grand Prix racing to the big screen. Narrated by Michael Fassbender, the film tells the story of the golden age of Formula 1®, when the sport became terrifyingly dangerous. In the late 1960s, Formula 1® cars doubled their engine size and sprouted wings, making them incredibly quick, but even more hazardous. With money pouring in from sponsorship and a new worldwide television audience, superstar drivers were born, thrown like gladiators into the ring. The drivers were legendary with charisma and raw talent, but many of them paid the ultimate price. "1" follows the story of the drivers who raced on the edge and those who stood up to change the sport forever. It is about the greatest show on earth--Formula 1®.

If you like auto racing then you will give this a 5 star. A great story on the growth of Formula One and the parallel story of driver safety. Great music and historic videos.

It's amazing how far we as pioneer's have come when it comes to the automobile. Such a fantastic story. Nikki lauda will always be my favorite driver in the world he had everything down to an exact science. Very powerfull definitely worth buying.

The most shocking thing this movie showed was how Bernie eckelstone came to power and how pro safety he was. The old f1 cars in HD are stunning , and if you have a surround sound system you will be blown away the sound gave me goose bumps a couple of times! This also include the story that rush is based on.
