인류에게 문명의 지혜를 가르쳐 준 검은 돌기둥의 정체를 밝히기 위해서 목성 으로 날아가는 디스커버리호. 하지만 컴퓨터 할이 반란을 일으켜 승무원 풀을 우주선 밖으로 던져버리고 선장 보우만까지도 모선 밖으로 끌어낸다. 우여곡 절 끝에 반란을 제압한 보우만은 마침내 목성 궤도에서 검은 돌기둥을 발견한 다. 그 순간 급류에 휘말린 디스커버리호, 보우만은 지구로의 귀환을 시도하 다 신비한 시간의 흐름을 경험한다.

평가 및 리뷰

Watching this movie was like having someone slowly peel off all my finger nails simultaneously... but I didn't resist because somehow I thought it would be worth it in the end... and then they poored salt in the wounds and mashed the finger nails back down... Simply torturous...

I tried to watch this movie once, all i got was a black screen with a humming sound, i only know what happened because i read the plot on Wikipedia, Stanley Kubrick is the master behind the shinning movie but i think ridley scott should've made this movie,

Visually impressive. Flat acting. No major tension involving HAL. Pointlessly and oainfully drawn out scenes. A horribly awful movie. Kubrik is vastly overrated with this one. Pass it by!
