Have you ever heard the expression "I'll never get that time back"? Well this is exactly how I felt when 45 Years ended. I kept waiting, waiting & waiting for something interesting to happen, then the credits rolled and I was just annoyed. I really wanted to like this movie and my only consolation, small as it is, is that I borrowed it from the library so I wasn't out any money. But I'll never get that time back. Take my advice, find something better to do that takes 1 hour & 45 minutes. You're welcome.

Brilliant film-making. Subtle performances that explore a broad range of emotions. Solid direction that confidently pauses the camera movement to rest on character expressions. Great play of painful history against what should be a joyous occasion.
