About this movie

When Adam (Gordon-Levitt) strolls into the doctor's office one day for some routine tests, everything is great. He's 25 years old, has a good job and a hot girlfriend. And then he's diagnosed. As if facing a life-threatening illness isn't enough, Adam must also calm his neurotic mother, appease his selfish girlfriend and excuse his best friend (Rogen) for using his condition to lure girls into sympathy sex. Based on the writer's own life story, Adam's touching and often hilarious journey to health reminds us that laughter is the greatest healer of all. 2011 SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT, LLC. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

Seth Rogen I am not a fan of but to be fair his role in this was perfect. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is brilliant in the main role. It's said it's based on what the screenwriter Will Reiser, a friend of Seth Rogen, experienced. I was not sure if I would watch 50/50 having lost someone close to me to cancer when I was young. I was worried Seth's part in the movie would turn the whole thing into a stupid joke of a film but that was not the case. The movie covers the good and the bad. It's not afraid to open the characters up and show the other side, the hurts and the sadness as well as the joy of being alive. Don't over look this movie it really is very good and well worth watching.

This is not a comedy. I did laugh, however there were definitely more tears than giggles! It is a great, touching movie which I did truely enjoy watching!

The wife picked it and I rolled my eyes but I really got into it, its realistic and deals with a problem many have been through but adds humour into the mix
