Astronaut Roy McBride (gespeeld door Brad Pitt) reist naar het uiterste randje van het zonnestelsel om zijn vermiste vader te vinden en onthult een mysterie dat de overleving van onze planeet bedreigt. Zijn reis zal geheimen ontdekken die de aard van het menselijk bestaan en onze plaats in de kosmos uitdagen.

Ad Astra has interesting sequences and action but overall it's far too dramatic and heavy. The effects are great, a land rover shootout on the surface of the moon is hella cool. Everything inbetween drags, the music, the script, the sad monologue. With a better musical score, some more dialogue and character building I would've loved Ad Astra. Instead this movie is ok at best. I think the trailer is a bit deceiving and most people should expect a drama rather than a sci-fi thriller.

This is a MEGA boring movie. Some people say it's "deep" or somesuch but it's just a bad movie. Not much of a story and what there is is plodding and slow and there's NO payoff at the end. When it was over my main thought was, "There's time I'll NEVER get back!"

- Ne vous fiez pas aux mauvais commentaires! Oui certaines séquences sont longues, oui le protagoniste n'est pas du genre très extraverti. Mais l'histoire, les effets spéciaux et l'atmosphère générale sont magnifiques. Et si les histoires père / fils vous émeuvent, vous serez servis! - Don't trust bad comments! Yes certain sequences are long, yes the protagonist is not of the very extroverted kind. But the story, the special effects and the general atmosphere are magnificent.
