I'm reading the hate on this movie and it's sad. From someone that has boughts with schizophrenia it's not as easy to deal with as you think. Taking medication that make you a zombie isn't easy either. Do some research on the stigmatism on mental health. I related a lot to this movie. The medical community still hasn't grasped this full phenomena so I doubt back then they would when they would give you cocaine as medicine. Smh

I have no idea how this won any awards. I assume there were no other decent movies made that year. It's a shame because I think all of the actors are fantastic at their craft.

This is a good story, well acted and well directed, but the sales pitch for Pharma drugs is a joke. One never takes a pill and is suddenly better. That's an infuriating tale and untrue to the real story. I suggest, nonetheless, for it to be seen. Crowe is awesome. Fairy tale story holds your attention. And that's all it is. Just wait for Rumplestilsken.
