In Robert De Niro's stunning directorial debut, a devoted father battles a local crime boss for the life of his son. Ive watched this movie so many times years ago ,and still holding up.Love the love story between the young man and the beautiful young black woman.You see people Love knows now color. The relationship between father and son was strained for a minute,but things have to play out so it worked out for the good things happen for a reason,God's plan always prevale.

A excellent movie about the life of a young boy/man growing up in NYC with local mafia thugs, racial issues, both of color and family background and ideals, and the chance at love despite a families concerns. Narration is done very well by character.

I seen this movie, about six times and it's never get old. The sound track in this is good too! This is a movie everyone should see!
