Even without the modern special effects, the scting bu all is classic. Also, being produced in 1938, was much more authentic to the time period. A superb performance by all!

Chuck Jones' award winning animated version is the best and, atmospherically scary. Hard to find other than YouTube. That said this, version's good too.

Barry Mackay's portrayal of nephew Fred is absolutely delightful, and to this day, unrivaled by any other actor in this role. He is pure Christmas cheer, five times distilled, personified.
