Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender, Shame) has just begun his psychiatric career, having been inspired by the great Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen, The Lord of the Rings trilogy). When a mysterious and beautiful woman (Keira Knightley, Atonement) goes under Jung's care, Jung finds himself crossing the line of the doctor/patient relationship, causing great conflict with his mentor and making Jung question his own morality in the process. Thought the actors did great and while the patient/psychiatrist relationship was meh it was done differently then i thought going in. Cinematography was great and the story was interesting although i didnt understand half of what they were talking about. Also just found out this was originally a play? First time i couldn't tell because the conversations were intriguing.

Has less imagination than most of Cronenberg, and the cast (with the exception of Keira Knightley) is uncharacteristically stoic and dull.

For quite some time I have been facinated by the works of Freud & Jung. This movie is a great insight into Jung's early life & Kiera Knightley performance was spectacular.
