This documentary follows my mom and my aunt to a reunion of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Helen Callaghan (Candaele) for 5 years in the league and won the batting title in 1954. The documentary was seen by Penny Marshall and turned into the Columbia Pictures film starring Tom Hanks, Geena Davis and Madonna

With nicely chosen archival footage, and a host of inspiring and comic personalities, this documentary is a real treat. Who needs Madonna when you can see these great women ballplayers really hit the dirt in the skirt for real. Make sure to see this. A Memorable and forgotten slice of American history brought back to life.

The real women of the All American Girls Baseball League are truly inspiring, and its motivational message is amazing. The footage in this film is remarkable, while telling the real stories behind the women . It is a must see part of our American history.

This is a fascinating documentary about the real women that played in the women’s professional baseball league. I loved seeing them get together and play again in their senior years. Just so sweet and inspiring! Amazing personalities.
