Great acting (by Hoffman). Rachel McAdams is normally a beautiful presence but her German/English accent in this film is horrible and to me undermines the film significantly. I was about to give this film 4 stars, but no spoiler intended, in the end it comes across meaningless. An OK film to kill 2 hours, but retrospectively I wouldn't have watched it.

Although I still regard Hoffman as one of the greats, it was simply too slow as a story goes and the ending left things hanging. Took three attempts for me to watch all the way through. Worth watching for Hoffman and Defoe.

Looks marvellous, strong performance from Hoffman, good moments of tension/suspense - but not much of a story. Came away from it feeling a bit let down.
