1962 Chicago: A romantic youth who is a recent high-school graduate is forced to wonder about his future when faced with a rival for the girl he loves. His father wants him to go to business school but he decides to go to Hawaii. Lack of money helps him put things in perspective and he is able to reconcile himself to his father's point of view.
