Über diesen Film

This is a stirring tale of two brothers and the complex relationship they share with their minister father who treats the artful sport of fly fishing as both metaphor and meeting ground. The river unites the three men, making it possible for them to overcome their differences and love one another. Featuring a star-making performance from Brad Pitt, this richly satisfying drama was nominated for three Academy Awards. (Original TItle - A River Runs Through It) © 1992 Allied Filmmakers, N.V. 4.5 Stars I really liked this movie. Great story, great cast, and breathtaking cinematography. I have watched it twice. However, I find one of the main character's death so sensless, so tragic and so heartbreaking that, despite wanting to, I still cannot bring myself to watch it again. Just thinking about it makes me sad.

Robert Redford consulted with the author not long before he died. It's a true story, but it took the author decades to write it. If we leave the place where we grew up, and live our adult life on the other end of the country, as the author did, and experience loss of this kind, it takes years to heal. The acting in this movie is so brilliant, you are drawn into the story in spite of the sadness. It's just that good!

A true classic. The beauty and cruelty of life interspersed with the author's poetic accounts of his early life. All set within a stunning Montana landscape. Great acting. Great story
