An propagandist portrayal of the creation of Israel that demonizes the inhabitants of the land, the Palestinians. Diluted in the personal/psychological struggle of an Eastern European woman who moved to newly founded Israel.

A faithful, respectful distillation of a beautifully written book. If you read the book, you can see why Portman wanted to make this. Excellent, luminous work.

You can guess from the title what you're getting into. It's well shot and has a passionate story - it is slowly paced tho.
