Acerca de esta película

Starring Robert Redford, Nick Nolte and Emma Thompson, A Walk in the Woods is a hilarious and touching comedy based on the book by celebrated travel writer Bill Bryson. Reluctant to settle into retirement, Bryson (Redford) challenges himself to hike the legendary Appalachian Trail over 2,100 miles through some of the most spectacular and rugged wilderness in America. But the peace and tranquillity he hopes to find on the grand trail proves elusive when he agrees to make the journey with his old high school buddy Katz (Nolte); a wisecracking, larger-than-life personality who is out of shape and arguably out of his mind. As the two men set off into the wilderness, they encounter an assortment of eccentric characters, wild animals and perilous weather in an epic journey that will test the limits of their friendship. 2015 BGP Releasing, LCC. It's just OK, but only just. I decided to watch it mainly for the setting and then found myself actually paying attention, so, that says something I suppose. Redford can be quite annoying at times (forced acting) and Nolte almost difficult to watch (and listen to, his voice is more gravely than ever) his character is a little OTT. All in all though...OK film with some funny moments. Seen better similar films with smaller 'stars', but was entertaining. The nature is the real star of the movie.

Thank you to Mr Redford and Mr Nolte for their wit and application in a subject matter that may appear unimportant to some but overwhelming to others, getting older and where do we go from here. Beautiful scenery and a film well worth watching.

Mediocre at best, a poor shadow of the book. The dialogue is hard to follow (on the rental copy at least), it seems that the level is too low compared to the background. Read the book, skip this film.
