About this movie

In this hilarious sci-fi comedy, ordinary schoolteacher Neil Clarke (Simon Pegg) is granted extraordinary powers by a group of space aliens (voiced by the Monty Python team) as a test to determine the fate of our planet. Co-starring Kate Beckinsale, and featuring the voice of Robin Williams as Neil’s canine companion, Absolutely Anything proves that with great power comes total irresponsibility!

I love Simon Pegg. I love the Cornetto Trilogy. I even liked How To Lose Friends And Alienate People. Keep all that in mind when I tell you, this movie is terrible. Spend that rental fee on something else. Simon can't help it, Robin Williams cant' help it. The Monty Python crew can't help it. It's not funny, the ending isn't fulfilling, and it really just flat out sucks. Great premise and you can see that it should have worked. It just doesn't. What I really hate the most about this is that I always expect better out of Pegg. He needs Edgar Wright.

Just okay. I'm a huge Simon Pegg fan but his starring roles seem to end up falling short when Nick Frost is not part of it.

Not the best, but entertaining. Predictable, and simple writing. But it doesn't take itself seriously and you shouldn't take it seriously either. If you don't, you just might enjoy it too.
