High above the trenches 14 days is a long life...This is the 15th day! Featuring Malcolm Mcdowell & Christopher Plummer - A naive young officer straight from school arrives on the Western front to fight the air war against the Germans. However, the life expectancy of green pilots is not very good.

Excellent - This film is based on two books written by men who lived this. Sagittarius Rising by Cecil Lewis and Journey's End by RC Sheriff. The makers have neatly knit these two together into a film that is the most realistic WW I drama that I have ever seen. The pressures of command, where whiskey was the essential, lubricant, the revolving door of new men who rarely lasted more than 2 weeks and mad high spirits of the mess and the impossibility of showing emotion to loss. A fine script and great actors too.

Great Movie. And one of my favourite DVD's. I have it on Blu-Ray and am thinking of getting another copy in 4K UHD now that's it's been redigitised.

Longer scenes in the O-club than in the air.
