George Simon Kaufman died in June 1961 and Moss Hart followed in December of the same year. This film is about their first collaboration Once In A Life Time eight more will follow including You Can't That It With You and The Man Who Came To Dinner. This a great b&w film which should be seen more but isn't due the kiss of death of not being in color. Why is it fun, because you get tv and movie faces of the seventies are here George Hamilton Jack Klugman Sam Groom David Doyle Bert Convy George Segal in their early days. Jason Robards as George S. Kaufman steels the film and where else can you see Bert Convy playCary Grant, considering that in the future he will host game shows. We know that this pretend because there is title that says 1929 and a news cast that states that col Teddy Roosevelt returned from a trip and was well and good health. Now that is amazing because former president Teddy Roosevelt died in 1919, if you care the other events if the news cast could have happened. This film has a very old time movie feel even though it was made at the time Hollywood was changing.
