À propos de ce film

Tina Fey and Paul Rudd star in this hilarious and heartwarming comedy about the unexpected detours we encounter on the road to happiness. Year in and year out, Princeton admissions officer Portia Nathan (Tina Fey) has lived her life by the book. But during her annual recruiting trip, she finds herself reconnecting with a former college classmate, free-spirited teacher John Pressman (Paul Rudd). As she bends the entrance rules for one of his very unconventional students, Portia puts at risk the future she thought she always wanted, and finds her way to a surprising and exhilarating life she never dreamed of having. From director Paul Weitz (In Good Company), and co-starring Michael Sheen and Lily Tomlin, it's the feel-good movie critics call "funny and fresh!" (Glenn Kenny, MSN Movies).

I was excited for this movie as it has two of my favorite comedic actors: Paul Rudd and Tina Fey. Unfortunately, this movie left much to be desired. The plot line was unoriginal and while it was good at creating a humanistic portrait of the college admission process, I wasn't really entertained by it. When it ended, I was hoping it would have stopped thirty minutes earlier. There are better movies out there...

Based on the cast line-up I expected something completely different. This is definitely a drama with a minor (and I do mean minor) comedy overlay. I have a deep respect for the lead duo, in which if this movie was advertised more effectively as a drama - I would have come in to this with a different expectation, but I think that their roles are under-dramatized for a comedy. I have to give it three stars because it was good for what it was; I just feel jipped out of a few fits of laughter.

When I firs was watching the movie, I was applying for college. It made me depressed that I wouldn't get into a single college because my school didn't have ap classes. It felt depressed over the matter. It made me lose hope about college although I have a 4.0. I did get into college however :) Georgia tech!
