I guess I had never seen this movie before but I remember seeing the the trailer way back in 2005. Fast forward to today...just watched it and was blown away by the visual styling and story of this action dystopia! I looove the dystopia film genre but there are very few movies in that category. This was definitely an awesome movie and man oh man I've never seen charlize theron look so hot. Check this movie out!

I don't understand why people thought this movie was so bad. Charlize is lovely as usual and the movie is actually a pretty neat sci-fi dystopian story. I guess this is why people didn't like it. Anyway, I really enjoyed it. It's neat to see women directors make movies, especially slick sci-fi ones like this.

I'm rare to jump to review a movie unless it is exceptionally good or bad or interesting. Aeon Flux movie took the challenge of adapting the brief TV series into a full film - and live action. It succeeded in having a better storyline, and even more visually interesting (if possible). Although it can easily serve as a standalone film, it does a service by a generous acknowledgement of the quirky storylines of the series. The acting is all that you ever need in a futuristic adventure; the cinematography is easy to follow; the sets, costumes, etc. are visually top-notch. Most futuristic films use darkness to help cover all the detail needed to convince people it's the 'future'. But this film advances to the ranks of the best science fiction films, in full color. Very exciting film. Unfortunately, there probably will never be a sequel, because there doesn't need to be one. But I'm hoping this same team would tackle other exceptional science fiction stories, such as Tadd Williams' Otherland, or something like that (I'm not very well versed in sci-fi genre). Enjoy!
