When Derek Lee is diagnosed with a life-threatening condition, he decides to embark on a worldwide backpacking adventure with his best friend Clif Prowse. After a wild night out in Paris, Derek takes the wrong girl home with him and gets viciously attacked. As Clif and Derek move on to Italy, Derek starts to develop some truly bizarre symptoms: a violent sun and food allergy, immense physical strength, superhuman speed, and a certain thirst… They are drawn into a violent nightmare – dealing with the inescapable realization that the impossible has just happened – Derek is becoming a vampire. Brings something new to the vampire genre. Good story and well acted. Unlike other vampire films Afflicted actually makes vampirism seem like a curse and the main character appears hopelessly damned, and unable to adjust to what he has become. None of the glitter of twilight or the drama of vampire diaries, both decent in their own right but this is how a vampire story should be told.

This film was excellent, i loved the special effects, very well done considering the budget they had. A very good twist to a vampire flick. It had me jumping in bits which never happens to me normally. Acting was spot on 😊

I watched this knowing nothing about it beforehand, and was pleasantly surprised. Good acting, good effects, well directed. Worthy of a rental, but I'd ideally like to pay less than £10 to buy
