These movies remind us that even a great actor has his/her limits. Johnny Depp is playing a cross between his role as Willy Wonka, Jack Sparrow, and Edward Scissor Hands. It is so hard to watch him try to be the Mad Hatter, it takes any good left in this movie, and throws it all out the window.

As a lover of all things Wonderland, a devotee' of Tim B.s work & an avid fan of J. Depps acting skills, I believe this is a fine example of a successful second film. Unfortunately, when a great film has been created, the follow up movie tends to be a remarkable flop. Not in this case. I'm a collector of first edition books. My example: a compilation of Alice in Wonderland and Thorough the Looking Glass, with 92 John C. Tenniel illustrations. I think Lewis Carroll would approve of this movies incarnation.

The movie seemed to have so much potential but after the first half hour or so it was obvious that Alice through the looking glass was mad simply to capitalise on the fame of the first movie. The story line was lacking, it's progression was choppy and the only thing going for this movie was the special effects. Maybe spend more money on a good director and less on special effects. After this I will not see another Alice movie produced by this company.
