One of the worst Disney movies I've seen. I liked it when I was younger, but as time went on, I found I was losing the like for it that I used to have, and I just don't get why so many people love it. I've got nothing against them for it, but I'd just like to understand why they like it. I just dislike it because of how cruel it is toward Alice, as pretty much every character in Wonderland treats her undesirably, and a few even try to kill her. Even though it is all a dream, and she ends up home in the end, it's still hard to get past all the mean-spiritedness the film has, and I don't see a lot that makes up for the cruelty (part of the problem is that the Wonderlanders get off scot-free for their behavior). Not to mention it seems to teach some morals that children shouldn't learn, such as "Curiosity is bad because it can lead you into trouble," "It's OK to treat others badly if they're different or if it's fun," and "Dream worlds aren't fantastic and whimsical, they're cruel and mean." I gave it two stars because there are a few good things in it (the animation, some of the characters, the beginning and very ending, the songs), but in my book, the bad things far outweigh those.

I love the movie the new ones just don't use the things that were in the books this one at least tries and to those who hate it and say it's cruel and not for kids the books weren't made for kids Alice in wonderland is about madness. All in all I like it but I'm taking off one star because it didn't stick completely to the books and made some of its own stuff up

I've loved this since age 6 & appreciate it more as I age because it's one of very few Disney movies without a vapid, needy princess who has to be kissed by, fall in love with or saved by a prince. The avalanche of princess characters & unrealistic but powerful influence they've had on young girls is sad to me. Alice explores totally on her own, the creatures & characters she meets are fun & whacky- it's so different from the typical "happily ever after" that it's now refreshing, fun & a true classic.
