The terror begins when the crew of a spaceship investigates a transmission from a desolate planet, and discovers a life form that is perfectly evolved to annihilate mankind. One by one, each crew member is slain until only Ripley is left, leading to an explosive conclusion that sets the stage for its stunning sequel, "Aliens."

This is what sci-fi movies are supposed to be. God bless Ridley Scott as he brought what is now one of the most iconic movie monsters to life and for that we all owe him a lot. The atmosphere is amazing and it definatley made me jump onece or twice. As hard as the decision was I'm going to have to say that out of Alien and Predator, Predator is the better movie...JOKES, WHO AM I KIDDING OF COURSE ALIEN IS THE BETTER MOVIE!

Watched it over twenty years ago for the first time, it left a long lasting impression. The creature evolution is really well done. I've also heard it's probably one of the rare film to use computer realistically. Nothing like today where computers resolve everything

Well, probably not the daddy of all monsters, but it should be. One of the most unique monsters of all time, in one of the best sci-fi movies. If you haven't seen it do yourself a favour.
