Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination they must attempt a harrowing escape.

I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion for whatever reason, but with that being said I am completely thrown of my balance when ever I hear that this movie sux or just isn't that good, like wow. As for me I completely loved/love this movie for everything that it says/shows, but I do agree that there wasn't really too much in the character development area even though all the actors pulled their weight and made the story way more believable and sucked you in. But besides the lack of character development this whole movie is nothing short of being f-n awesome, sorry 4 the somewhat vulgar language. And 1 of the main reasons why I love it so much is that it brings the origin/genesis of the all powerful, awe inspiring and complete highly aggressive & lethal Xenomorph that we all fear and love. Yes it did not feature the Engineers too much, but that leaves an opening to really dive into them in perhaps the next installment, May be even the one after. To sum it all up. The Movie and story were absolutely fantastic and leaves you thinking and dreaming of what the next installment(s) have in store. And even if you are not into these kind of movies/stories you should still give it a shot as you won't regret it and I just hope the next 1 will have a better and cleaner script/story that they take the needed time to make an awesome movie. Still I loved this movie as well as Prometheus.. Later...

The movie shows its potential. But suffers on character build, everyone dose great with thier roles, especially Fassbender. The cinematography was breath taken and the soundtrack brought the chills to my spine. I can see why people would not like this film: 1. Dosent explain enough of the promethus story. 2. Apparently dosent show much alien (I can disagree) 3. Characters aren't well developed 4. Can be slow at times Me personally, I think the movie has an issue of its pacing and characters. I was interested in what was going and enjoyed the thrill. I don't understand what people mean by not much Alien Cuz they show up at the 47 minute mark... but I guess movie goers are picky... but besides the point. If you enjoyed Promethus, then you mite like this film. But If you like Alien then you probably wouldn't mind the film. It all depends on your mind, just a recommendation. Watch the film with a open mind. Don't watch it for Alien/Promethus watch it for its outline (story) don't watch it for action and Don't! Watch it and over expect things Cuz you will be let down... to sum up, Alien covenant is a okay movie, it has great acting, wonderful cinematography. Entertaining Scenes but lacks with some plot and characters. Alien Covenant gets a 3.5/5 (Side note) watch the bonus features Cuz they explain a lot more with the characters. If you are a fan of the series it's worth a watch for the story, amazing visuals and and musical score. The acting I felt was actually quite good (it could not of been easy to play characters so incompetent...). However even being a massive fan of the series I found it difficult to watch at times because I just couldn't understand the very poor decisions made by a crew that clearly appeared unqualified for the job. At one point there is talk of training that occurred and the moment that the training could be of use the characters fall apart not knowing what to do (i.e. a certain trigger happy pilot). I also found that the movie may of focused to much on androids and really wished that they focused more on the humanoid aliens introduced in Prometheus instead. I came into this movie not expecting a big tie back into Prometheus beyond some subtle hints via visuals and dialogue, but after seeing such a large tie back into Prometheus I felt that the gap in time should of been better explained (such as Elizabeth Shaw's role). To summarize it's worth a watch for fans of the series, other may enjoy it for it's visuals. Just remember to not think too deeply about anything you see.
