Arguably the pinnacle of the Alien franchise of movies, the follow on directed by James Cameron has a compelling storyline, pace, a great set (decommissioned Acton power station) a fantastic group of experienced actors and razor-sharp editing. With music by James Horner, there's an eerie opening as Ripley is picked up drifting through space. I never grow tired of watching this movie. It possesses so many psychoanalytic and socio-cultural undertones. Most noticeable for me is the conflict within Ripley between her motherly, very feminine instincts and her leadership role in a conflict situation. Bishop for example, his desire not to be labelled synthetic and therefore equal to other team members. Aliens is undoubtedly a hugely influential movie and one that quite rightly deserves its place in the IMDb Top 100 movies of all time. Disney we look forward to the 4KUHD release in 2022.

The best of the franchise and one of my all time favourite films...the action is amazing and the build up and suspense incredible....it's almost a full hour before you see anything though which is good because it allows for character development and us as the viewer to be connected to the team of marines sent in..sigorney Weaver is fantastic as Ripley and thoroughly deseverd the Oscar nomination. I think the animatronics are also on point and still hold up today

A classic and my favourite film. The extra footage is not out of place and the scenes with Sigourney regarding her daughter really do flesh out her reasons for bonding with Newt. It's just a shame Jim Cameron hasn't been back to the Alien franchise rather than Ridley Scott.
