Ah, no. The CGI effects are all that are going on here, thus two stars. It's a derivative story, every thing you'll see you've seen before in another movie. It's an empty theme: The only thematic element is one character's insistence on not modifying the lead character with some technology, and then folding on that principle faster than a falling deck of cards. The plot is silly and the love story is tissue paper thin, and of course, it ends with a cliffhanger promising another bad movie to come. Skip it unless you hate empty acting and are only here for the ridiculous fight scenes.

All in all I really enjoyed this movie. I've never read the manga but after watching the trailers I was pretty interested in the movie. AI and the idea intelligent beings being in our universe has always interested me and in terms of delivering that this movie did well. I also can appreciate how beautiful the scenes are in this movie and the amazing CGI. The only reason I'm giving this movie four stars instead of five is because of the cliche romance. It felt too rushed and cringy.

It's basically a film where the mc is made adorable so viewers fall in love and forget about the plot because truly not much happens. I would of loved it if much more was revealed but that didn't happen so it was a bit underwhelming. Nevertheless Alita is ok, the CGI is good and so are the fight scenes, I wish I could say the same for the characters because they were quite boring.
