it's a poignant topic to debate, but none alive today will have to wrestle with these things. if Amelia were more "ghost in the shell" like major or even Alita, with human tissue inside a cyborg body, then obviously that person remains human. but an all machine copy of a human is not a human..

Outstanding movie. I felt an emotional connection to Carter and Amelia. Debates throughout the movie are very thought provoking. Phenomenal. I'd recommend if you're interested in the future of technology. Especially A.I. technology.

The ethical and moral questions raised by this amazing film are necessary with the advancements in technology, DNA and genetic manipulation; as well as the introduction of quantum computing. Within a decade, these questions will prove to be more relevant. The age old question of humanity 'playing God' and dismissing such advances as being 'from God' are timeless questions that will need answered. Will our scientific arrogance bring us judgment? Will our desire to prolong physical life lead to spiritual condition whereby death won't be possible? Are we more than mere consciousness? What ramifications will we face if we don't adhere to the will of God, but instead follow our own will? Many of these revelations are shown in the drama, and the movie does well to raise even more questions. Very well thought out.
