해저 11km, 한 번도 경험하지 못한 무언가 깨어났다! 30일 동안 해저 시추 시설에서 엄청난 압력을 견디며 바다의 밑바닥을 뚫어야 하는 캐플러 기지의 대원들. 어느 날, 큰 지진으로 콘크리트 구조물을 뚫고 급류가 들이 닥쳐 기지는 순식간에 파괴되고 대혼란이 일어난다. 갑작스런 대재앙 속에서 가까스로 살아남은 대원들은 전기 엔지니어 노라를 비롯한 5명. 이들이 시도해 볼 수 있는 유일한 방법은 또 다른 해저 기지 '로우벅'으로 이동해 탈출 포트를 찾는 것 뿐. 하지만 어두운 심해엔 그들만이 존재하는 것이 아니었다. 무언가 그들을 바짝 따라오고 있다. 불가사의한 포식자와 쫓고 쫓기는 위험천만한 게임에 갇혀버린 대원들. 살아남기 위해선 남은 용기를 전부 쥐어 짜내야만 한다.. 살고 싶다면 모든 감각을 깨워라!

평가 및 리뷰

Disappointing. It wasn't infuriatingly awful the way Alien Covenant was, but there's not much to redeem this aside from being... not the worst movie out there. Fun effects and the occasional tense scene can't bring this back from being a very weak, hard to enjoy failure. I really wanted to love this, but even after watching it twice, I can't find enough positives to even like it.

Way better then I expected after reading the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Never a dull moment, the wild ride starts almost immediately with very few chances to catch your breath. The story does not waste your time giving every drop of information about WHY things happened, but just enough to get the general idea and keep things moving. The cast did a great job in their roles and the characters were not faceless, but like the story, gives you just enough to care what happens to them. The CGI was good, worked well for the setting of deep underwater with things happening very fast. All in all, a great movie I do not regret watching.

Instantly became one of my favorite sci-fi horror movies. Pros: The acting is all stellar (even TJ Miller who usually I don't like). The film is fast paced and never boring. The use of lighting (or lack there of) is great in setting making each scene suspense without being too dark to see. It sets up mysteries, answers some, and brings up more. Most of all, all the characters make smart decisions and behave like actual people. This is a movie respects its audience. Cons: They could have spent a little more time developing the characters and making us care about them. Sometimes the deep sea suits move too fast for what it feels like trying to move underwater. Occasionally the sound/music was loud and distracting. Personally, this movie checked all the boxes I wanted, but I get that it may leave some wanting more.
