In bicycle parlance, David Sommers is a "wheelsucker," drafting through life, lacking the sprint to bridge the gap between the pack and the break. But the tragedies that David and his brother, Marcus, confront together teach him become a winner, to join Marcus as half of a pair of American Flyers.

Academy Award winner Kevin Costner stars with David Grant and Rae Dawn Chong in this story of two brothers a sports medicine doctor and his very naturally talented younger brother, whose differences have become an open rift. Together, they try to bridge the gap by competing together in a grueling three-day bicycle race that challenges their physical and emotional courage and leads to a reaffirmation of their love for each other.

Easily one of the best cycling movies I've ever seen. This movie taught me about real determination and having the will to win. Its an underground gem and one of my favourite movies hands down.
