Not sure what happened to my review that I posted several months back, however, I've decided to post it once again just to give my feedback about the film and what I felt about it. Truly an extraordinary legendary film that should be shown more and spoken about more, especially with its story and the meanings behind the film. Not only that but even the characters themselves are played as well as led by two legendary actors, Denzel Washington who is deemed as one of the greatest actors of all time and of course Russel Crowe who honestly put just pure raw emotion, acting and in a way his own self. It honestly made me feel like that it was indeed him, instead of portraying the actual real life detective. Same thing with Denzel Washington when it comes to playing the famous crime boss. Like it was that good that for months I've been obessed with the era and the clothing as well, alongside the cars. Even the soundtrack itself plays with your emotions, that's how good the soundtrack is as well. Its honestly perfect and fits so well to what you're seeing. The movie itself, and what makes it so good, is that every part of it honestly teaches you many lessons about how cruel the real life world can be, and how its ran like a business especially with family, money, connections and etc. Like there's just so much meaning about it. Like I could just keep going on and on about the movie but I don't want to spoil to much about it, you honestly have to see it yourself. Watched this on my birthday alongside my brother who bought it for the both of us to watch on our birthday, like he honestly never fails to impress me with the amount of good movies he finds. So far there hasn't been one movie that I disliked yet. What's even more nice is that our birthday is coming up next week so we'll definitely be watching another film on our birthday like we've been doing so for so many years. Such an unforgettable film, legenary, and iconic film that till this day I have never forgotten about. 4.19.2020

An extremely legend of a film, that should be known even more, and receive more credits for its dynamics. Such an amazing storyline, characters, soundtrack and led by two legendary actors, Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe who brought so much emotion, and action to it. What makes the film even greater is the many lessons and lines that are brought up, and what's even greater is how it's based on a true story. Honestly, worth watching no matter what. Had watched this on my birthday years back, and really an unforgettable film, that till this day I have never forgotten about. Don't want to spoil much, but its a must-see. 4.19.2020

I like Ridley Scott when he's not directing gross alien movies. Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe are two sides of a coin that makes it so convincing, from beginning to end. It's a true crime thriller.
