Tom Cruise reunites with his "Edge of Tomorrow" director, Doug Liman, in this thriller based on the outrageous true story of Barry Seal, a hustler and pilot unexpectedly recruited by the CIA to run one of the biggest covert operations in U.S. history. "American Made" costars Domhnall Gleeson, Sarah Wright, Jesse Plemons, Caleb Landry Jones, Jayma Mays, Benito Martinez, E. Roger Mitchell, Lola Kirke, and Alejandro Edda.

What could have been an epic saga (a la Wolf of Wall Street) felt instead like a lackluster, messy, shallow portrayal of Barry Seal that didn't flow well and felt like it was filmed by a particularly shaky hand. If you want to be entertained with stories about drug lords in the 80s, stick to Narcos.

The true life story wasn't even close to how this movie turned out. This movie tries to paint him in a good light as a patriot and a victim of the circumstances. Barry was a drug smuggler way before he was involved with the government.

Tom Cruise definitely "delivers" in this movie. Although I don't know about anyone else; but the whole movie felt like a carbon copy of Nicholas Cage's movie "Lord of War". Only Cage's character doesn't die in the end. However both spouses and children live happily ever after somewhere else; which I guess makes it the best part of the movie.
