The evil wizard Rasputin (Christopher Lloyd) puts a hex on the royal Romanovs and young Anastasia (Meg Ryan) disappears when their palace is overrun. Years later, the Grand Duchess (Angela Lansbury) offers a reward for Anastasia's return. Two scheming Russians (John Cusack, Kelsey Grammer), planning to pawn off a phony, hold auditions and choose an orphan girl with a remarkable resemblance to the missing princess. They bring her to Paris for the reward, not knowing she's the real Anastasia.

To all the people who think it's 100% fake, they have no proof that they found Anastasia the royal family had "medicine" or aka jewels inside their clothes but the never found those jewels, and if that was not enough proof, no one was around when Anastasia died so we don't know that she was murdered. I'm only defending the movie because it's an amazing movie, and I'm Russian.P. S. I haven't even bought it yet I'm going to weather tomorrow or Sunday.😄

Obviously this story is very loosely based on the real events that inspired it (I mean, it has a zombie Rasputin in it), but that doesn't mean that it isn't enjoyable (which it is). Great soundtrack ("In The Dark of the Night" is my favorite), plenty of action, an all-star voice cast, and this movie from 1999 has a princess that isn't saved by the guy and she literally fights the villain heads on. Highly recommended, but be warned that some parts might be a little scary for young viewers.
