M.G.Ramachandran is a successful businessman but depressed over his hectic business schedule, so he takes off and goes to Simla to his bungalow where Nagesh's brother-in-law is the caretaker. Nagesh is left alone with his fiancee (Manorama) as their family goes on a pilgrimage. Nagesh only had suggested to his brother-in-law to let out the bungalow without the knowledge of MGR. Now when MGR goes there Nagesh deals with him like a tenant demanding money for every service offered. Manorama knows his identity but MGR stops her from revealing as MGR likes this idea of staying there like a stranger. Things become interesting when Saroja Devi also steps in. MGR and Saroja Devi fall in love. Whether they unite in wedlock or not is the rest of the movie.

MGR & Saroja Devi was a made to each other couple. They were very famous jodi on that period. The very first colour film of AVM, it was screened in Casino, Me kala & Ram. It was running in these theatre about 166 days, one week lesser than a Silver Jubily. In this picture Saro was so beautiful & her usual way of speaking dialogue such as, Baluvo... Vaaluvo... , nalla pillai ... anippillai ..., appa ... saavi ... tholanji poch ... , samayakkattula irukka vendiyavangalayum, hospital la irukka vendiyavangalayum koottikkittu indha simlavukku naan yaendhaan vandhaeno ... was also very interesting.
