When there is an assassination attempt on U.S. President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman), his trusted confidant, Secret Service Agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), is wrongfully accused and taken into custody. After escaping from capture, he becomes a man on the run and must evade his own agency and outsmart the FBI in order to find the real threat to the President. Desperate to uncover the truth, Banning turns to unlikely allies to help clear his name, keep his family from harm and save the country from imminent danger.

I really enjoyed this movie, the plot was very believable and the tactics used by the military are spot on what you are trained in the armed forces. This could have been taken from a think tank that figure out scenarios of Worst Case Scenarios, so therefore it is totally believable that this could happen and the way the solution was found. Gerard Butler's performance was rock solid all the way through, screen-writers' writing a script with a lot of wit and sophistication that would make a great Senior School Report, that my son had done and got high marks. I highly recommend this movie for the Thinking Man, you can not leave your brain at the door, for you need to figure out who the villain is, definitely harder than your normal who-done-it.

I had to add a comment because i read the others and felt that the people leaving a bad review needed to be corrected . this movie is great you wont be dissapointed plenty of action i have seen the other movies this would be the best of the 3 movies in this collection to all the haters they should go watch Dora because that might appeal to them.

Another predictable move cut straight from the cookie cutters at Holly Dull. If you like gun porn and macho father figures dressed up as actors formerly known as 'Morgan Freedman' this is for you. However if you like a story, best look elsewhere.
